Where will you be working? This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services. We're seeking a practical, hands‑on mechanical technician to work on installation, maintenance, and repairs of water sector equipment – this is not a design or CAD role. The role is field-based and requires experience using tools, fault‑finding, and working on mechanical systems such as pumps, valves, pipework and rotating equipment. What will you be doing? You will be responsible for maintaining various water assets, including: CSO valves Penstocks Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) Isolation gates Inspection of chambers and valve equipment Oil equipment inspection, including draining and replacing oil systems Inspection of fixed equipment (fixed ladders, safety bars, grills, etc.) Utilising tooling and measuring equipment, in accordance with engineering drawings and layouts Operating lifting equipment and following approved procedures for plant equipment transportation Supporting reactive works during breakdowns What's essential?
