We are looking for experienced assistants to join our Fleet and Transport Response Centre section. We will ensure that children and vulnerable adults with special needs travel safely to and from their destination. Your duties and responsibilities will include the direct supervision of passengers when boarding and alighting the vehicle; provision of assistance and physical support, where required, to passengers whilst boarding and alighting the vehicle. WHAT IS INVOLVED? working with children working with vulnerable adults working with people with special needs including physical, learning and behavioural difficulties dealing with difficult situations, such as behaviour issues and people with complex medical needs You must be able to interpret procedures and adhere to them and have an awareness of the main issues arising out of Health & Safety in relation to passenger transport. Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria. If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure. Leave Entitlements Number of 'teaching' weeks - 38 weeks; plus Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave.
