Clinical Vascular Scientist – NakedK9 Design, LLC Job Summary An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced accredited Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our small friendly team at the Vascular Studies Unit in Cornwall. Based at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, services also extend to other peripheral sites across the county, providing imaging for one‑stop Vascular Clinics, multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot Clinics, Vascular Hot Clinics, Thrombosis Outpatient Service, rapid access TIA clinics, as well as inpatients and outpatients. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will independently perform non‑invasive vascular investigations, contribute to the development of the vascular studies service and play an important role in the management of patients with vascular disease. You will be a valued member of the team expected to carry out and supervise others, performing complex detailed diagnostic ultrasound examinations to the highest standard and independently report the findings on a wide variety of vascular ultrasound investigations. Vascular Scientists are allocated 20% non‑scanning time to perform non‑clinical duties such as attending MDT meetings, teaching/training, CPD activities, QA/audit/departmental meetings, mandatory training and other additional service management duties as required. Contribute to service development and patient management. Carry out and supervise complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations. Allocate 20% non‑scanning time to non‑clinical duties (MDT meetings, teaching, CPD, QA, audit, training, management). Person Specification Education – Essential Relevant science degree. Full accreditation as an accredited vascular scientist (AVS), HPC or equivalent. HCPC registration. Education – Desirable Knowledge of the Scientific Training Programme (STP). Practical skills Work unassisted and prioritise workload. Good communication. Experience – Essential Minimum of three years practical experience as a trainee vascular scientist. Able to report results independently for a full range of vascular conditions. Experience – Desirable One year post‑qualification (AVS/STP/equivalent) experience.
