This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week. Who are Novus Cambria? Site Information HMP Prison Berwyn is a Category C prison in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It accommodates a male population. It is the largest prison in the UK, opened in 2017, and is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The prison’s aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to have / demonstrate : A degree or equivalent subject specialist qualification A teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent QTS / QTLS (Desirable, but not essential) Minimum level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy Experience delivering Functional Maths, Basic Skills, Key Skills and / or Essential Skills Application of Number Experience producing accurate and timely reports Experience creating a positive contribution to establishment planning & development processes An ability to fulfil delivery targets and plans A good track record of achieving quality targets, including those related to learner achievement, inclusion, progression and destination Positive team working A good track record of achieving ‘Good’ or above in Teaching Observations Benefits 38 days annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays Significant Pension contributions Retail Discounts Employee Assistance Program Safeguarding Novus Cambria is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
