Radiology Porter The closing date is 17 December 2025 Our Radiology Porters provide an invaluable service transporting patients on beds, trolleys and wheelchairs around the hospital site. They are also involved with a wide range of other duties including moving furniture, delivering supplies, delivering specimens to the laboratories and changing medical gases, for example oxygen cylinders. The vacancy is Monday to Friday (one Saturday every four weeks and Bank Holidays on a rolling rota). The hours of work are 09:00 to 18:00 and 11:30 to 20:00. Main duties of the job We currently have a vacancy for the role of a Radiology porter in University Hospital of Wales (UHW), in a busy Radiology department. To succeed in this role you will need to be well presented, have excellent communication skills, be flexible and adaptable in your work and demonstrate a genuinely caring approach to others. Saturday and Bank Holiday working attracts a 50% enhancement in addition to basic salary. Person Specification Experience Previous experience of working with the general public. Well presented, working unsociable hours and Bank Holidays. Polite, courteous and friendly. Previous hospital portering experience. Experience of working within the NHS or healthcare system. Skills Good telephone manner. Keyboard skills. Leadership skills. Previous keyboard skills in NHS. Qualifications Numeracy skills and literacy skills. Formal educational qualifications. NVQ in customer service. Personal Qualities Good communicator, approachable, polite, courteous, friendly and team worker. Flexible and able to motivate others.
