Join NHS Borders as a Clinical Practice Educator, a fixed‑term (2 years), part‑time (30 hours / week) staff role focused on supporting the clinical practice needs of registered practitioners, healthcare support workers and multi‑professional staff groups. Responsibilities Design, plan, implement and evaluate clinical skills education for staff involved in direct patient care. Plan, design, monitor and formally evaluate the effectiveness of clinical development activities. Assess and benchmark clinical education to support the development of new/extended clinical roles. Project‑manage local implementation of clinical service initiatives through multi‑disciplinary working. Conduct educational / clinical practice audits and maintain accurate databases of staff undertaking enhanced role courses. Provide ongoing support, specialist education knowledge and advice to clinicians, promoting evidence‑based practice. Required Skills & Knowledge Cognitive (clinical reasoning, decision‑making) Non‑technical (team‑working, communication) Technical (IV therapy, venepuncture, cannulation) Interpret complex organisational and clinical practice needs aligning with current research, professional guidance, best practice statements, national drivers and legislation. Plan, design, monitor and formally evaluate the effectiveness of clinical development activities ensuring a quality service that meets departmental standards. Eligibility Registered practitioner. PVG Scheme membership/record (child and/or adult) or willingness to obtain a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland record. Right to work in the UK (or eligible for sponsorship).
