We are looking for an Engineering Lead to join the Platform Product Integrations team to expand and maintain direct integrations with payments systems and partners all over the world. What is the Platform Product Integrations (PPI) team? The Platform Product Integrations team sits within our Platform tribe, which designs, builds and operates the foundational direct integration infrastructure that power the product that moves billions of dollars every month. Role Overview In Wise, our Platform Engineering Lead position is responsible for leading a specific domain from roadmap through to operation, as well as the people side of the team. How we work Design, implement and maintain integrations between Wise and complex financial systems. Develop and design scalable and repeatable architecture with complex regulatory requirements. Analyse infrastructure to determine inefficiencies and problems, and create automation and optimisation. Collaborate with our larger platform engineering team and alongside product engineering on globally impactful projects. Communicate with various stakeholders throughout Wise, plan roadmaps with your team, and work through challenges to determine scope and realistic delivery. Work with other Leads to influence the direction and change current technology implementations, as well as advocate for excellence with third parties. What do you need? Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a high performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical initiatives with business goals. Infrastructure & Systems Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure systems and network infrastructures. Ensure high availability and performance of critical systems, both on-premise and in AWS. Develop and enforce best practices for system administration, monitoring, and disaster recovery. Drive cloud adoption and optimization strategies, leveraging AWS services to enhance system performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Lead the migration and management of applications and services within the AWS environment. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in the cloud. Oversee the architecture and management of enterprise networks, including LAN, WAN, and cloud-based networking solutions. Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Ensure reliable connectivity and uptime across all network components. Strategic Planning & Innovation: Work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute the infrastructure strategy. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing new tools and technologies as appropriate. Lead initiatives to automate processes, improve system efficiency, and reduce operational costs. What will you be working on?
