Senior AI Engineer

The purpose of this role is to design, develop, and deliver advanced artificial intelligence and Machine Learning solutions driving innovation and business value. The role exists to build robust, scalable, and production-ready AI systems by applying deep technical expertise across software engineering, cloud platforms, and operational best practices. They act as a technical leader, guiding the end-to-end AI lifecycle, from ideation and development to production deployment and monitoring Salary Information Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Location: Guildford or London About You AI Solution Development Designs and implements advanced artificial intelligence models and systems, including generative and agentic AI, to address complex business challenges. End-to-End Pipeline Engineering Develops and maintains scalable data and machine learning pipelines, ensuring seamless integration from data ingestion through model deployment and monitoring. Cloud Platform Delivery Works with AI Architects to design and delivers AI solutions on major cloud platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security in production environments. Operational Excellence Implements best practices in MLOps and DevOps, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing, to ensure efficient and reliable AI delivery. Performance Optimization Monitors, evaluates, and optimizes the performance of AI models and infrastructure for accuracy, e Technical Leadership Provides technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and data science teams, fostering a culture of innovation and high-quality software development. Collaboration and Communication Collaborates with cross-functional teams and communicates complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful delivery of AI initiatives. Research and innovation Stay current with the latest AI/ML trends, research papers, and emerging technologies. Proactively experiment with new ideas and integrate relevant innovations into practical solutions. Essential Skills Technical Skills Demonstrates expertise in designing, developing, and deploying generative and agentic AI solutions, Computer Vision, with an excellent understanding of large language models and autonomous agents. Applies advanced knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and AI frameworks such as Langchain, Semantic Kernel agent SDK and related libraries. Designs and delivers AI solutions on leading cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform), leveraging native AI/ML services and cloud-native architectures. Develops and manages robust data pipelines, big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka), and data management practices for feature stores and training data. Implements best practices for the machine learning lifecycle, including model versioning, CI/CD, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and automated monitoring. Demonstrates excellent programming skills in Python and other relevant languages, with a solid foundation in software engineering principles for building production-grade systems. Applies knowledge of governance, security, and compliance requirements to ensure responsible and ethical AI development and deployment. Adaptability: The ability to learn and adapt quickly in the rapidly evolving field of AI. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus). Experience Experience designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI solutions, including generative and agentic AI, in production environments. Experience of working in Insuretch across Claims, UW, Pricing and customer engagement. Experience building and maintaining scalable data and machine learning pipelines using modern big data and cloud technologies. Experience applying MLOps and DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and automated testing. Experience working with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver impactful AI solutions. Experience communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and driving alignment across teams.
