We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school environment and make a real difference in a child's educational and emotional development. About the Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff to support a pupil with SEMH needs in accessing learning and achieving positive outcomes. This role requires patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to SEMH needs Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and follow behaviour support strategies Support teaching and learning in the classroom Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment Support social and emotional development through positive relationship-building Monitor progress and report to teaching and SEN staff Assist with personal care needs if required Requirements Experience working with children with SEN/SEMH in a school or specialist setting Good understanding of SEMH and strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential What We Offer A supportive and experienced school team A chance to truly impact a child's educational journey Professional development and training opportunities Competitive pay based on experience Ongoing support from your Aspire People consultant How to Apply If you're passionate about supporting children with additional needs and ready to take on a rewarding role in Trafford (M30), we'd love to hear from you.
