Permanent Sandwich, Kent Optronics Systems Engineer Department: Engineering Reporting to: Systems Team Leader The Optronics Systems Engineers primary focus is to drive the design and integration of optical, electro‑optical and laser based sensors into the system design ensuring best practice and the highest safety standards are maintained. The Optronics Systems Engineer will be involved throughout the project life cycle from project definition to design implementation, including requirements capture and management, technical risk management, system architecture development, functional analysis, concept generation and evaluation, interface management, subsystem procurement, system verification and validation. Security Due to the nature of the work all candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance to SC level. Capture stakeholder requirements. Champion awareness of the full product lifecycle in the product design phase, including manufacturing, safety, reliability, availability, maintainability and disposal. Identify and manage interfaces. Develop system and sub‑system requirements in order to define functions that must be performed. Evaluate and down‑select system solutions. Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities. Technical content of bid and proposal preparation. Participate in customer meetings. Report generation. Verification and validation planning and testing. Undertake customer and service visits by car, when necessary. (A full current driving licence is required.) Lead the integration on products in development. #J-18808-Ljbffr
