Catering Assistant Join to apply for the Catering Assistant role at The Loddon School. We are recruiting for a Catering Assistant to support the development of a healthy eating ethos across the school. Details This is a permanent, full-time position. You will work 162.5 hours per month on a shift pattern between the hours of 7am-6pm and working one in three weekends. Hours Full-time. Salary Range £25,096 – 29,601 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits Bonus scheme Free staff meals on shift On-site parking Generous referral scheme Discounted gym membership Established wellbeing team Employee assistance programme Training & career development opportunities Responsibilities The role is to assist the Catering Manager to prepare and serve daily meals for children and staff, and to complete the preparation, cooking and service for the evening meal. Food should be cooked fresh, always using healthy methods. The Catering Assistant will be responsible to run the kitchen in the Catering Manager’s absence and may be called upon to help with the ordering of food deliveries ensuring stock is kept up to date in a timely manner. Ideally this candidate will have a wide breadth of experience in a kitchen and knowledge of supervision. This role is varied, working in a fun environment with a flexible team. This role shall include daily interaction with our young people so previous experience of working in a similar environment would be helpful, although not essential as full training is provided. Qualifications Evidence of Food Safety Certification & Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate in Food Preparation and Cooking or similar NVQ. Closing Date 3rd November 2025.
