Post holders will work directly with one or more Consultant Oncologists and alongside other oncology specialist trainees. Experience in Medical Oncology at ST level is essential. All candidates should have full registration with the GMC by date of appointment and MRCP or equivalent is essential. The post is for 6 months only starting in January 2026. Main duties of the job This is a full-time post based at UCH to start in January 2026 for a period of 6 months only. The post will involve an opportunity to work with the gastrointestinal medical oncology team and gain experience in clinical and trial management in a renowned tertiary cancer centre with multidisciplinary input and strong research interests. Person specification Knowledge and Qualifications Essential criteria Medical degree Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent GMC registration NB: Non-UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register by date of appointment having completed both PLAB1 & 2 Completed core medial training or equivalent Desirable criteria Knowledge of the Clinical Governance framework of the NHS (including Research governance) and understanding of current changes in the organisation and management structures of the NHS. Ability to act within these parameters Experience Essential criteria Experience in medical oncology Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels Desirable criteria Undergoing or completed higher specialist training in medical oncology Clinical audit experience Experience of laboratory research Skills and Abilities Essential criteria Ability to organise and prioritise workload, to delegate responsibility as appropriate and to supervise staff Good inter-personal skills with an ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting Ability to work effectively within a team environment & on own initiative Desirable criteria Ability and commitment to teach in a clinical setting Communication Essential criteria Excellent communication skills/verbal and written.
