Global Network Assistant The Global Institute on Innovation Districts (GIID) is seeking a detail‑oriented, technology‑savvy professional to help run and grow our Global Network of Innovation Districts. GIID is a global‑reaching not‑for‑profit organization of researchers and practitioners working with leading innovation districts worldwide. These districts bring together universities, hospitals, companies, startups, schools, and workforce programs in walkable urban areas. They are among the smartest innovation ecosystems on earth, with the capacity to tackle complex challenges such as climate change, cancer, and infectious diseases. Over the past five years, GIID has built and operated a Global Network spanning more than 50 innovation districts in 14 countries. The Network combines a peer‑to‑peer learning community with a curated program delivered through four programming tiers—Connect, Empower, Advance, and Accelerate—each offering increasing levels of support. As the Global Network Assistant, you will play a central role in executing this work. You will support network meetings and relationships, strengthen our data and systems, and help keep projects, programming, and internal workflows on track. Primary Responsibilities Network coordination and information flow Liaise with district leaders and their teams to collect necessary information, schedule meetings and support general communications. Accurate and timely collection of information to be input into organized systems for team use. Meeting preparation, facilitation, and follow‑up Assist in preparing meeting agendas, scheduling group and individual meetings across multiple time zones, and organizing and distributing materials ahead of each meeting. Provide light support during online meetings to ensure smooth execution. After meetings, track follow‑up items, and help coordinate next steps. Occasionally support the team during in‑person convenings or events. Database and records maintenance Organize the workflow to collect data and cross‑check, validate, and reconcile inconsistencies between master and network databases. Enter and update district profiles, contacts, and participation details in appropriate database. Accuracy and careful data handling are essential. Ensure new information is captured consistently and aligned with existing records. Support the team in keeping data organized so it can be used effectively across teams and organizational functions. Project and workflow coordination Assist the Network team in tracking tasks and deadlines in Asana, ensuring responsibilities move forward on schedule. Support planning and sequencing of Network activities and outreach efforts by updating tasks, organizing information, and maintaining clear workflows across tools and systems. Preferred Qualifications Exceptional attention to detail, with a consistent track record of delivering accurate work, managing information carefully, and catching small but important errors. At least three years of experience in fast‑paced, detail‑heavy environments that require coordination, follow‑through, and handling multiple tasks with accuracy. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and work independently. Demonstrated reliability in managing clear communications and supporting team workflows. Strong problem‑solving abilities coupled with a delivery‑oriented approach. Effective written and verbal communication skills suitable for an international audience. Ability to work collaboratively with a global, remote team, with professionalism and a flexible mindset. High degree of comfort with technology and the willingness to learn new digital tools. Excellent command of US English; proficiency in an additional language is a plus. Must‑have Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including the use of these tools for remote collaboration. Familiarity with project and workflow tools such as Asana and SharePoint. Experience with AirTable or similar database / information‑management platforms. Ability to quickly learn new software and operate efficiently across multiple tools. Further Information This is a full‑time contract position, with compensation commensurate with experience, ranging from USD $38,000 – $48,000 per year. This position is fully remote, with 15‑30% of work outside of normal business hours, given the global nature of the organization, and requires you to have your own computer and workstation.
