Ipswich, United Kingdom Suffolk Jobs Direct Full time

Description Suffolk County Council Address: Endeavour House, Ipswich IP1 2BX or West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds I P33 3YU - Hybrid Salary: £40,777 - £47,054 per annum (pro rata for part time) Hours: 37 hours per week - flexible working options available Contract: Fixed term or secondment for 12 months (funding) This advert is open to current Suffolk County Council staff only As a modern, flexible and effective organisation, at Suffolk County Council we’re driven to make a positive difference to the environment, the communities we serve and the careers of our people. That’s why, when you join us as an Environment Strategy Project Manager, you’ll be encouraged to share your fresh thinking and empowered to explore new ideas that will shape and improve our services as well as your career. Reimagine the possibilities. Your role and responsibilities You will work as part of a small, dynamic team involved in decarbonising transport in Suffolk through the provision of EV charging infrastructure (under the “Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure” project, known as “LEVI”). A typical day would see you liaising with our District Council colleagues and other landowning organisations to secure their agreement to host EV Chargepoint’s on their land; this will involve strong negotiation and persuasion skills. Some landowners will have more prior knowledge about the LEVI project than others; you will need to be good at explaining complex and often technical information in an understandable way to a broad range of people. Being comfortable presenting to different audiences is a must for this role and you will ideally be someone who actively enjoys public speaking and presenting. Your ability to keep meticulous records of what stage every site has reached will be key to your success, backed up by your excellent IT skills and attention to detail. The ultimate goal with landowners is to reach the point where they are ready to enter into a legally-binding agreement with our EV chargepoint providers; if you have some knowledge of legal documents such as Leases and Licences, this would be an advantage. Your other principal focus will be on supporting the Senior Project Manager to manage the team’s technical stakeholders, such as colleagues in the different Highways functions, Planning, Legal and Property; excellent relationship management will be required here. Some prior knowledge of these service areas would be an advantage. You will need Outstanding communication skills, with experience in tailoring your approach to suit different audiences and knowledge levels. Experience and skill in managing relationships with stakeholders, some of whom will be more invested in the success of the LEVI project than others. A genuine passion for helping Suffolk tackle its carbon emissions and in particular, those associated with transportation. An ability and willingness to learn about the legal/property transactions required to secure LEVI sites owned by third parties, and the patience to see those through to completion. Attention to detail so that you can identify errors in site drawings, legal documents, and maintain accurate project records. You can view a full list of requirements in theJob and Person Profile (Word). If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. Even if you don't meet all requirements, still apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
