Senior Technical Buyer – 3-Month Contract Location: Silverstone, UK Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (3 Months) Rate: £350 - £400 a day An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Buyer to join a leading Formula 1 team on a 3-month contract, based at their world-class facility in Silverstone. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented procurement professional with experience sourcing and purchasing technical components within composite or metallic manufacturing environments. You’ll play a key role in supporting build and development activities by ensuring the timely supply of critical materials and components for ongoing F1 projects. Key Responsibilities Manage the procurement of materials, components, and assemblies to meet production and engineering requirements. Liaise closely with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality compliance. Negotiate prices, lead times, and terms to support cost and schedule objectives. Raise and manage purchase orders within the company’s ERP system. Maintain accurate records of supplier performance and material traceability. Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and supplier relationships. Requirements Proven experience as a Technical Buyer within motorsport, aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors. Metallic materials experience – essential. Proficient with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or Epicor – desirable. Strong commercial acumen, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Immediate availability or short notice period preferred. Why Join Us?
