Objectives / Scope

Hydro Group are looking for an Accounts Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team, financial controller, and management team. The role will be to support the day-to-day functions of the accounts department from the sales ledgers to the customer invoices and bank reconciliations as well as a variety of other duties. This individual will play a key role in supporting internal stakeholders as the business is in an exciting growth period and successfully expands its services and capabilities.

The role is 25 hours/5 days a week but we're open to other part-time arrangements.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Sales Ledger Processing
  2. Entering Customer invoices and credits
  3. Checking and querying discrepancies against Sales Orders to ensure postings to correct ledgers
  4. Dealing with any queries that arise from customer invoices and resolving appropriately through liaising with other departments or externally with customers
  5. Credit control of customer accounts to ensure timely receipt of monies owed
  6. Customer Credit Application checks for new customers
  7. Creating and controlling of Proforma invoices for new customers
  8. Ensure documents are electronically filed on a timely and accurate basis
  9. Meeting month end deadline of completing sales ledger transactions and reconciliations
  10. Posting of month end deferred income reconciliation
  11. Daily posting of Bank transactions and weekly and monthly bank reconciliation
  12. Ad hoc Purchase Ledger Support - Holiday/absence cover
  13. Control of Accounts Group email account, ensuring that queries are dealt with and mail organised daily
  14. Assisting with Answering Incoming Accounts calls
  15. Assisting with Year End Audit as required
Skills Base
  1. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  2. Effective Team Working Ability as well as being able to work alone on own initiative
  3. Demonstrate Eagerness to develop and learn
  4. Excellent Communication skills
  5. Ability to multi-task and manage workload to meet daily demands
  6. Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  7. HNC/HND/University Graduate preferred
