Join to apply for the Lead Biomedical Scientist Microbiology role at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust Job Overview The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust’s Pathology Centre is looking for a dynamic, caring, and enthusiastic leader to join our Microbiology Team. This role requires values-based leadership of a large team of Biomedical Scientists, Support Staff, and Secretarial team. The individual will also be a key contributor to the overall operational, workforce and finance performance and strategy of the department, working closely with other Pathology leaders and wider colleagues. Microbiology is a vibrant team continually developing innovative ideas and ways of working, ensuring services match the rapid pace of diagnostic advances. Responsibilities Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of Microbiology and effective leadership skills with experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams. Communicate effectively and interpret and present performance and business data. Advise senior managers of risks and issues and solve operational and day‑to‑day management issues using previous experience and own initiative. Engage service users, partners, commissioners, and other key stakeholders with a strong collaborative approach. Work closely with other members of the Pathology leadership team to deliver a quality, patient‑focused service. Qualifications Registered Scientist with the HCPC, with highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience. Professional knowledge acquired through degree, postgraduate study, and significant experience in this specialist field, at MSc Level or equivalent. #J-18808-Ljbffr
