DescriptionWe are currently seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join SkyCare, a leading provider in mental health care services.As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with mental health challenges, providing them with the necessary support and care to improve their quality of life. You will be involved in a variety of projects aimed at promoting mental well-being and independence among our service users. This position is ideal for compassionate individuals looking to make a positive impact in the mental health care sector.Full-time contract 36- 42 hours per weekFull induction provided.Experience in a similar role is mandatory Experience with residents with mental health is desirableLong shifts, 12-hour shifts, so you will need to be available to work a variety of shifts across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays according to service user needs. Shift patterns are based around service user needs so our ideal candidate will be flexible. The normal working pattern is 36 hours worked over a 7 day period. These shifts can vary but generally will be between 8pm and 8am.Other benefits of working with us:Competitive pay rate, £12.42-£12.82 per hourEnhanced rates of pay for all overtime workedClear career pathwayFully paid induction and all training requiredFree DBS, free uniformReferral bonus scheme235 hours annual leave a yearEducational opportunities: training provided and NVQ paid for.Training and development opportunities – leadership developmentFull and paid induction and ongoing learningBirthdays paid and offRequirements:We are looking for someone who has:Experience in a similar roleRight to work in the UK for at least one year, no sponsorship providedLive in the area or willing to commute/relocateExperience with mental health, brain injury residents is desirableWillingness to learn.Excellent communication skills.You must be friendly and well-organised with an excellent work ethic.Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals with mental health challenges.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Basic understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on individuals.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.Willingness to undergo relevant training and continuous professional development.What will you be doing?You will provide face to face support to people living with mental illness to aid their recovery and tenancy management.You’ll support them to develop their daily living skills, emotional stability and increase confidence.You will encourage service users to maintain positive working relationships with family, social workers and other professionals.You will promote positive behaviour, with a focus on meaningful change in people's beliefs and abilities.Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Residents when required with all aspects of daily livingAssist Residents in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritualProvide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignityObserve care planning needs for Residents and completed daily records as instructedAssist in framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care CentreReport on well-being of ResidentsClean and maintain equipment used by Residents and Relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etcYou will be an organised self-starter with computer experience, able to balance face to face practical work with computer based record keeping.You will be open and supportive to the needs of others, displaying our clear values and having an awareness of the needs of vulnerable adults and able to communicate effectively with other professionals and agencies.Numeracy, literacy and IT skills are essential as you will updating support plans and other important records frequently.Responsibilities:Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with mental health issues.Assist in the development and implementation of care plans tailored to each service user's needs.Encourage and support individuals in engaging in social activities and community events.Administer medication and ensure compliance with prescribed treatment regimens.Monitor and report any changes in the mental or physical health of service users.Assist individuals in developing daily living skills and promoting independence.Collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided and observations made.If you are looking for a new role, do not hesitate and apply below.You will need to attach a CV in order to apply for this role and give us details about right to work and e visaWe may close this vacancy early should we receive sufficient interest.PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP. #J-18808-Ljbffr
