About The Role Are you a part-qualified or newly qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant looking to build your career in a dynamic, fast-paced group finance environment? We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Group Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Group Finance Manager to deliver accurate, insightful financial reporting that supports key decision-making across the business. You’ll help strengthen financial controls, enhance balance sheet integrity, and play a vital part in improving our financial processes. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and identify risks or opportunities. Take ownership of assigned month-end tasks and post journals independently. Support internal and external audit activities and help translate technical accounting matters clearly. Assist in preparing monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting. Provide meaningful analysis behind balance sheet movements and variances. Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and support improvements in reporting processes. Support day-to-day banking operations and cash flow monitoring (short and long term). Reconcile bank statements and ensure transactions are processed accurately. Assist in producing timely and accurate tax returns. Provide financial analysis to support business initiatives and special projects. Help enhance financial processes and drive efficiencies across the Group. About You Qualified or studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent). Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting. Good understanding of balance sheet, cash flow, and financial statements. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements) and ability to interpret large datasets. Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
