Due to rapid growth and continuous success we are delighted to confirm that we are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join our Fortem team across the Chester area. This is a permanent full‑time position assisting with the operational management of this social housing refurbishment programme. The Customer Due to an increase in Retrofit projects, we are proud to advise this will be working within the Sanctuary Housing contract working across the Chester and Stoke regions. Duties and Responsibilities Assistant Site Manager responsibilities include: To assist with the management and safe delivery of the social housing refurbishment works Reporting into the Site Manager you will have responsibility for all contractors and operational refurbishment/construction across tenanted properties Ensure all works carried out comply with BS7671 and any other relevant standards Ensure that works instructions issued to trades or subcontractors are clear, unambiguous and represent a full and fair days’ workload, at all times seeking to maximise productivity Lead a team of supply chain partners to solve problems associated with carrying out their works Carry out ad‑hoc safety inspections on supply chain partners Carry out WIPs on directly employed tradespeople Carry out quality inspections on all works Organise work activity and prioritisation for the team Complete an accident form the presence of an injury Manage the welfare facilities on site Support tenants on a daily basis and achieve excellent customer satisfaction What You Will Need Essential Experience of working within social housing refurbishment programmes Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Problem solving skills, analytical capability Ability to work well under pressure IT skills (MS Office, ECDL, MS Project) Ability to engage people and build strong working relations with trades, colleagues, client and managers Worked in a planned works environment/site CSCS Card Flexibility to undertake regular travel Desirable Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance Understanding of job costing SMSTS Experience of Retrofit projects (PV, Heat Pumps, EWI/External Wall Insulation) Benefits Competitive salary based on experience with profit‑related bonus Option to opt into a salary sacrifice car lease Motor Expenditure Allowance (£3,500) 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday off (34 days total) Eligible for a bonus of up to 10% 26 weeks full pay maternity leave Annual pay reviews 8 weeks full pay paternity leave Discounted gym memberships at national and local gyms Up to £3,000 colleague referral fee Vast directory of training on bespoke in‑house Learning Management System Private healthcare and dental care Cycle to work scheme Retail and mobile phone provider discounts Who We Are We are part of the Willmott Dixon group, established in 2002.
