We’re already on site supporting the completion of an existing project and we’re due to land new projects on site in 2025 as we continue to demonstrate to our client just what MMB is all about.Role: Principal Mechanical EngineerAs a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the mechanical functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all mechanical aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.The role includes the following responsibilities:Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of mechanical engineering on projectsProvide design support and guidance for schemes and ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standardsWork closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyondEngage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to supporting them in achieving their aimsManage interfaces and integration of the process design with other disciplines and production of documentationAct as technical checker on project documents, and undertake technical reviews for projects across teamsIdentify opportunities to improve delivery processes including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital toolsUndertake site reviews to ensure buildability of solutions and integration within existing systemsSupport the development of the mechanical engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers to develop their skill set and identify the correct resources for projectsWhat you’ll needDegree in Mechanical Engineering, or related fieldChartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering InstitutionProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesExperience of delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standardsAbility to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholdersA willingness to travel to sites across your operational regionPreferred skillsExperience with sustainable design and green building practicesProficiency in mechanical engineering software and toolsStrong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards in the water and wastewater sectorExperience of temporary works designWhat we can offerAt Mott MacDonald Bentley you will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with your experience.
