Deputy Safeguarding LeadSolihull£26,300 - £29,000 (Term time only + 2 weeks)£28,500 - £31,500 (Full time equivalent)Hours: 37.5 hours a week We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Pastoral Support Officer to join an existing team and play a crucial role in ensuring students are safe, supported and ready to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to: Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all students. Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding matters in the DSL’s absence. Coordinate referrals, liaise with external agencies, and maintain accurate records. Support the implementation of training and awareness across all departments. Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and thrive both personally and academically. Build strong relationships with students, families and external partners to ensure the best possible outcomes. You will have: A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline. Safeguarding training and experience in child protection and multi‑agency working. A passion for supporting young people, especially those facing challenging circumstances. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially and professionally. Strong ICT and record‑keeping skills, with a keen eye for detail. A genuine commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. Experience within an educational setting and/or previous work in a safeguarding or pastoral role is required for this position.
