Head of Finance (No.1 Finance Role) HW Finance are proud to be partnering with a growing SME to help appoint a new Head of Finance reporting directly into the MD. The Group Head of Finance will provide strategic and operational leadership across all finance functions, acting as a key business partner to the Board and executive team. You’ll take ownership of financial management, reporting, planning, and governance across multiple entities — ensuring strong control, accurate insights, and informed decision‑making at every level. Key Responsibilities Lead group‑wide finance operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. Strengthen financial systems, processes, and governance frameworks. Deliver management accounts, performance reports, and cash flow forecasts. Provide strategic insight to support commercial decision‑making and growth initiatives. Lead financial modelling, scenario planning, and investment appraisals. Oversee working capital, funding, and group cash management. Support and execute M&A activity, including due diligence and post‑deal integration. Manage external relationships with auditors, advisors, and investors. Qualifications Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). 7–10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity or project‑based environment. Strong technical finance capability combined with commercial acumen. Experience leading or supporting M&A transactions.
