Two exciting opportunities have arisen for experienced, dynamic and motivated midwives to join our midwifery education team on a part‑time and full‑time basis, working collaboratively with the CPF and University partners. We are looking for a midwife with a broad range of experience within maternity services, with a passion for education to prepare and train staff and embed Collaborative Learning in Practice (CLiP) in the Trust. The role of Deputy Clinical Placement Facilitator – CLiP Educator is to work alongside the existing deputy and Clinical Placement Facilitator ensuring the education and development of all student midwives within maternity services and other learning environments meets the NMC pre‑registration midwifery standard. This role will also focus on creating, sharing and embedding the Collaborative Learning in Practice (CLiP) vision within Maternity. Main duties of the job Co‑ordinate and facilitate the educational activities of individual pre‑ and post‑registration students and return‑to‑practice (RTP) midwives, working in partnership with the HEI to promote evidence‑based learning in the development of midwifery practice, encompassing local and national service objectives. Work in partnership with the Trust, Maternity Clinical Placement Facilitator and HEIs to strategically plan the student placement mapping, allocating students on an annual basis, ensuring processes are in place to monitor and manage the operational and quality aspects of placements. Facilitate a positive learning experience by assuring a safe and effective clinical placement for midwifery students which takes into account the capacity of clinical areas and practice assessors & supervisors. Ensure that students achieve the NMC requirements for clinical skills (e.g. 40 facilitated births) and manipulate student learning experiences where necessary to meet this need, troubleshooting when issues arise. Maintain a record of each student’s progress and clinical teaching contact time. Be conversant with and implement education and practice standards from the NMC, HEI, NHS England, LMNS, Capital Midwives and other government agendas.
