Senior Steel Composite Engineer

Our experience spans all aspects of the nuclear market from carbon-free, small modular reactors to Department of Energy science, environmental and nuclear security mission capabilities.Position OverviewThis position is based in Darlington, ON, and is a full-time temporary role in the Nuclear market.ResponsibilitiesProvide advanced technical input on steel composite structures, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and project specifications.Lead constructability assessments of design packages, identifying potential site issues and proposing practical solutions.Prepare and review construction method statements, interface with the planning team to align design delivery with construction schedules and client milestones.Respond to technical queries from site and client teams.Support the implementation of design methodologies and quality procedures, contributing to continuous improvement and team efficiency.Liaise with construction, procurement, and client representatives to ensure alignment of design intent with execution requirements.Support the Technical Manager in preparing KPIs, progress reports, and presentations for senior management and client updates.QualificationsPost-secondary education in civil engineering.Minimum 10 years’ experience in structural steel/composite design and construction, preferably within nuclear, power, or large-scale industrial projects.Professional Engineering (P.Eng) Designation is considered an asset.Proven track record in constructability reviews and site-based engineering support.Strong knowledge of ASME codes and nuclear safety standards.Experience drafting and reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and construction schedules.Excellent communication skills with ability to manage queries and interface with multidisciplinary teams.Strong leadership and mentoring skills.Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.High attention to detail and safety.Organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.Other RequirementsRegular, reliable attendance.Work productively and meet deadlines timely.Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others.Perform work safely and effectively, understand and follow oral and written instructions.Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines, work overtime and weekends as required.We offer our full-time staff employees a comprehensive benefits package, including top-tier medical, dental, and vision plans, voluntary wellness and employee assistance programs, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching, and generous paid time off.We believe in equal opportunity in employment practices without discrimination and comply with all laws regarding human rights in the provinces where we operate. #J-18808-Ljbffr
