Senior Project Manager – Post 32357 Location: National (Remote work across the UK; occasional travel to Birmingham, Leeds or London) Salary Minimum: £54,940 per annum. Working Pattern: Full time. Role Type: Commercial, Procurement and Contracts Management; Programme and Project Management. Closing Date: 14 December 2025. Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver projects that procure operational delivery frameworks for the Environment Agency. The role is part of the Future Frameworks team within the Commercial and Framework Management division, collaborating closely with Defra Group Commercial colleagues. Key Responsibilities Lead large, complex and technically challenging projects through strategic planning, execution, monitoring and reporting. Plan, cost monitor, forecast; manage risk and issue; produce highlight reports and keep records. Develop & deliver framework products: framework deed & schedules, contract templates, tender documents, guidance and training materials. Ensure consistency across frameworks, capture lessons learned and embed improvements within the programme. Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing rapid and effective responses. Coordinate incident response duties and training as required. Collaborate with shared services to meet operational framework needs across the organisation. Essential Skills Significant experience in project delivery and contract management, ideally in engineering, construction and/or asset management. Track record of delivering results on large, complex, technically challenging projects or programmes. Leadership skills to build and develop multidisciplinary project teams. Commercial and contract management experience. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships. Ability to collate and present information to support decision-making. Ability to manage uncertainty and ambiguity. Degree (or equivalent qualification). Desirable Skills Chartered membership of a professional body such as ICE, CIWEM or APM. Formal training in project and/or contract management. Experience using NEC contracts (PSC and ECC) within a framework agreement. Experience managing commercial framework procurement.
