Clinical Nurse Specialist and Sonographer in Early Pregnancy care

As a key member of the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit team, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop your skills and expertise in Early Pregnancy ultrasound. You will need to be able to work independently demonstrating a high level of competence, excellent communication skills and compassion. Responsibilities Deliver and contribute to the development of nurse‑led early pregnancy clinics, working as an autonomous practitioner and providing high quality, expert nursing care. Perform early pregnancy ultrasounds, manage and interpret scan findings, produce written reports and deliver highly sensitive information to patients and relatives. Take part in the BMUS recommended peer audit process and participate in monthly learning meetings to discuss and challenge outcomes. Manage miscarriage cases, including commencement of medical management, arranging surgical management, and providing nurse‑led consultation, assessment and obtaining informed consent. Complete telephone triage assessments and organise workload efficiently while liaising with referrers and other staff to optimise service delivery. Assist in the training and supervision of students, newly qualified staff and other professional groups within Early Pregnancy. Act independently, interpret scan findings and contribute to governance and improvement of diagnostic outcomes.
