Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeDirect message the job poster from Copello GlobalPartnership Account Manager | Copello Global | Defence Engineering | Defence TechnologySenior Mechanical Design Engineer – High WycombeCopello are working with a defence client who are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a team who are responsible for designing, developing and supporting a portfolio of aerospace products for military and civilian applications.In this role you will contribute to the support, design and development of current and next generation products. You will be expected to be creative and innovative in the generation of concepts and detailed designs using 3D CAD. You will need to be capable of designing products, critiquing, developing and following the process through to delivery.Key responsibilitiesDesign and development of new and existing products using 3D CAD (Solidworks) and use of FEA and CFD tools to simulate mechanical behaviour.Research and analysis of design proposals, specifications and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs.Ensure product conformance with performance specifications.Undertake tolerance analysis of designs (a good understanding of inspection metrology methods, GD&T and standard tolerance methods are highly beneficial).Collaborate with other engineers and departments to implement operating procedures, resolve product faults and provide technical support to manufacturing.Produce detailed drawings for component manufacture and product assembly.
