Science Teacher – South Sheffield (S8) | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is delighted to be supporting a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in South Sheffield (S8) in the recruitment of a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic educator to join a forward-thinking team and inspire young minds through the wonders of science.

This full-time teaching role is to begin as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Pay Rate: £140 – £200 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Role:
As a Science Teacher, you'll be delivering engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to a thriving department that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. You will play an integral role in helping students achieve academic success while fostering a supportive and respectful classroom culture.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver high-quality lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (KS3/KS4)
  2. Differentiating planning and instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  3. Using a range of practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance learning
  4. Tracking and assessing student progress using school systems
  5. Contributing to the development of curriculum resources and enrichment opportunities
  6. Collaborating with colleagues to ensure cohesive and effective teaching practice
  7. Communicating with parents, carers, and staff to support student development

What We're Looking For:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  2. Experience teaching Science in secondary settings
  3. Strong subject knowledge across all science disciplines
  4. A commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching
  5. Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  6. Creativity and passion for making science accessible and exciting
  7. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
