Key Responsibilities Visionary Guidance & Technical Influence Serve as an internal expert, influencing cloud engineering strategy and advocating for best‑in‑class DevOps practices. Engage with leadership, validating technical and business decisions related to cloud infrastructure and platform engineering. Contribute to multi‑functional initiatives, ensuring alignment between infrastructure strategy and broader business goals. Cloud Infrastructure Design & Innovation Engage in the design, collaborating with architecture and product owners to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performance cloud infrastructure. Solves complex technical challenges, requiring knowledge of organizational objectives. Define and implement next‑generation automation strategies, eliminating manual interventions and enhancing efficiency, reliability, and security. Drive the evolution of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud‑native automation frameworks to enable fully autonomous operations. Reliability, Observability & Performance Establish and oversee advanced observability and monitoring frameworks, ensuring real‑time insights, predictive analytics, and system reliability. Identify hidden performance bottlenecks and proactively optimise cloud environments to meet evolving business demands. Define and enforce SRE principles, ensuring infrastructure resilience and reducing operational risk. Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies that minimise downtime and ensure long‑term stability. Cost Optimization & FinOps Alignment Collaborate with FinOps teams to implement efficient cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with budgets and performance requirements. Drive cost governance frameworks, balancing performance, scalability, and financial efficiency. Technical Leadership & Collaboration Act as a technical mentor and coach, guiding engineers across teams and helping shape future technical leaders. Define and enforce coding, automation, and cloud security standards, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance. Develop technical tools and methodologies that enhance efficiency and support business‑wide objectives. About You Business Unit Recognised Expert – Internal authority in cloud engineering. Visionary & Strategist – Able to conceptualise and implement future‑proof cloud solutions that align with business objectives. Proactive Problem Solver – Tackles complex challenges using conceptual thinking and innovative approaches. Technical Mentor & Coach – Develops talent, sets high engineering standards, and fosters a culture of innovation. Business‑Aligned Technologist – Engages with business unit leadership, ensuring cloud initiatives support long‑term company success. Technical Skills & Experience Programming & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python, Golang, Bash (or equivalent). Cloud Expertise: Extensive experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (AWS and Azure also considered). CI/CD & Automation: Advanced expertise in CI/CD methodologies and tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions. Containerisation & Orchestration: Mastery of Kubernetes, Docker, and micro‑services architectures. Observability & Monitoring: In‑depth experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and other monitoring tools. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise in Terraform, CloudFormation, and configuration management tools. Security & Compliance: Proficient in DevSecOps principles, cloud security standard methodologies, and governance frameworks.
