On behalf of our client, Royal London, we are looking for a Private Assets Valuations Analyst for a 6‑month day‑rate contract based in London. Please note this will be a hybrid working model. Job Description - The Role Royal London is undertaking an ambitious growth phase, in particular within Private Assets and Real Estate. The Private Asset Valuation Analyst will play a key role in the valuation of Private Asset instruments, including private debt, real estate, infrastructure, ABS, and other alternative asset classes. The role will involve overseeing appointed third‑party valuation agents/vendors, applying appropriate valuation techniques to validate asset valuations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of governance and transparency in asset valuations, and periodically presenting to the relevant Valuation committees/forums. The analyst will work closely with portfolio managers, investment analysts, risk teams, and external service providers to ensure accurate and timely valuations of private assets in line with industry best practices. What you'll do: Manage the day‑to‑day valuation process for private market assets, ensuring accurate and timely valuations across private equity, private debt, real estate and other alternative investments. Oversee third‑party valuation providers, review methodologies, and perform valuation analysis including back‑testing and periodic updates. Collect and analyse financial and market data to assess asset performance and validate valuation outcomes. Ensure all valuation activity complies with internal policies, governance frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP, AIFMD). Prepare clear and comprehensive valuation reports for committees, senior stakeholders and clients. Act as a subject matter expert in valuation governance forums and collaborate closely with investment, risk, and audit teams. Maintain strong awareness of market developments and evolving valuation practices, providing insight to the business. Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation and adoption of best‑practice tools and technologies. The skills you'll need: Extensive background working within asset management or a third‑party administrator, ideally including oversight experience. Demonstrable knowledge of Private Markets and Assets and the valuation of such instruments (incl. but not limited to Private ABS, Private Placements, Commercial Real Estate Debt, Infrastructure). Demonstrable knowledge of varying equity and fixed income (including money market) instrument types and the valuation of such instruments. Good knowledge of OTC derivatives and alternative investments. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and passion for working in the asset management industry. Relevant industry qualifications e.g., IMC, CFA, ACA (attained or working towards). Next steps This client will only accept workers operating via an umbrella/PAYE engagement model.
