Head of Security Architecture

Head of Security Architecture - London Stock Exchange Group Group Director, Head of Security Architecture, is a core member of the LSEG Cyber Security team. You will lead the direction and delivery of a large, multi‑domain Security Architecture team, ensuring that security is built into all projects across the group and that the group meets regulatory and business expectations. Role Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of strategy for the Security Architecture team, setting KPIs and driving achievement of objectives in alignment with the broader Cyber Security and Architecture Functions’ strategy. Manage performance, development and wellbeing of a team of architects across various technology domains, providing end‑to‑end architecture services. Own relationships with key stakeholders, including Cyber Security peers, group CTO, Heads of Architecture, Engineering Risk and Business Information Security Officers; define, manage and operate the team’s core functions (Secure Design, Principal Security Architecture, Security Architecture review). Define architecture principles, policies and standards to produce function‑specific reference architectures and patterns. Contribute to the development of global enterprise standards for the central Architecture & Technology Strategy function. Build relationships with vendors, regulators and industry bodies to adopt industry best practices in enterprise architecture and technology strategy. Seek latest technology and business innovations relevant for the function (e.g., Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing). Act as trusted advisor and leader across the wider LSEG Engineering group. Ensure engineering projects meet critical security regulations (e.g., DORA, LPM). Lead security engagement on major transformation projects. Minimum Requirements Knowledge of financial market infrastructure technology and experience deploying pragmatic security controls (e.g., trading systems, market data systems, low‑latency technology). Strong deep expertise in Application Security Architecture and controls. Experience in Enterprise Architecture, Technology Strategy, Cloud, Security, Applications and Infrastructure. Performing detailed security reviews of complex systems. Experience with architectural development methodology, standards development, and technology architecture. Qualifications in security leadership (e.g., CISSP, CISMP, CISM) and TOGAF in architecture. Modern engineering practices, agile practices, automation and deployment pipelines. Extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy across multiple Financial Services or similarly regulated organisations. Experience developing and influencing strategic working relationships with key technology suppliers. Experience in a leadership role within Security in a global financial services, FinTech, or technology organisation. Experience managing high‑performing teams and empowering them to deliver against agreed strategy and roadmap. Experience establishing and monitoring governance, accountability, engagement, KPI metrics, and budget planning and control. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non‑technical senior stakeholders. Experience successfully planning and delivering large‑scale complex technology integrations and transformation programmes. Proven ability to thrive under pressure, particularly during incidents.
