Doctoral Training and Events Officer

About the Role You will support the Doctoral College’s training programme by scheduling and advertising sessions, and by ensuring trainers deliver high‑quality content. You will supervise our portfolio of over 80 workshops, evaluate the programme, and prepare the 2026‑27 schedule. In addition, you will manage events such as the Doctoral Festival of Ideas, the Doctoral Research Celebration Evening, the Three Minute Thesis competition, writing retreats, and other student development activities. The role offers varied daily responsibilities. About You Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment Open‑minded and willing to try new approaches and tools Passionate about supporting students and enhancing the student experience Excellent planner with strong communication skills and people‑orientated approach Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Previously managed or supported others in an organisational setting Additional Details Position is full‑time for a fixed‑term period from January 2026 to August 2026, covering a secondment. You will be based at the Doctoral College, with hybrid working (office 2–3 days per week; occasional on‑campus needs).
