Westhill, United Kingdom Subsea Micropiles Full time

CAD Designer About the Company: Subsea Micropiles is an innovative offshore foundations company, leading the adaptation of terrestrial micropiling technology to the offshore construction sector for high-performance seabed foundations and anchors. It supports a wide range of applications to include increasingly larger offshore wind turbines for both fixed and floating platforms. Our Vision: “We are building the foundations of a sustainable ocean economy.” Hybrid working will be considered. Salary: Dependent on level of skill and experience. Benefits: A competitive package of employee benefits including pension & private medical insurance. As a CAD Designer, you’ll turn operational concepts into clear 2D/3D models and complete, production-ready drawing packages that tackle the real-world challenges of subsea foundation design. Working alongside multi-disciplinary engineers, you’ll gain exposure to every stage—from early CONOPS and deck layouts to detailed fabrication, assembly, and offshore installation support. The ideal candidate is curious, capable, and proactive—comfortable learning fast, iterating, and solving tough problems. You bring proven CAD experience (ideally SolidWorks and AutoCAD), confident with producing fabrication and assembly drawings to industry standards and are happy to be hands‑on. Your Responsibilities Design draughting of anchor templates, piles and pile joints, mooring connectors, subsea tooling, robotic drill equipment, and related components. 2D/3D drawing and modelling of vessel spreads, temporary works, and ancillary/handling equipment. Create full fabrication drawing packages (structural and mechanical) for production. Generate and maintain BOMs, tolerances, and revision control as part of release. Systems (hydraulic & electrical) Create new and modify existing hydraulic and electrical schematics for company equipment. Coordinate with engineers to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance. Operational Planning Produce storyboards, deck layouts, and other design artefacts to support CONOPS. Optimise layouts for safe, efficient deck and subsea operations. Contribute to design reviews, FMEA, operations manuals, and associated technical documentation. Field support & Supplier Collaboration Support project and operations teams on site with equipment upgrades and modifications. Visit suppliers to witness, review, and document the development of new products. Skills & Experience Profile Required Curious, capable, with a can‑do attitude. HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Engineering Design & Draughting, CAD, or Architectural Technology. Demonstrable experience with CAD systems – SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Demonstrable experience with fabrication and assembly drawings working to typical industry standards. Knowledge of equipment and operations in an offshore environment, such as vessel/rig deck arrangements, lift plans, and surface/subsea operations. A desire for solving real problems, the more challenging, the better. Comfortable with being hands‑on. A good record of continuous professional development. Knowledge of applicable industry standards (DNV, NORSOK, API, etc.). Offshore site/equipment survey experience. Everyone has a different journey in their career, so these aren’t mandatory requirements for the role and would encourage you to apply if you believe you could undertake the role. Seniority level: Entry level. Employment type: Full‑time. Job function: Design, Art/Creative, and Information Technology. Industries: Renewable Energy Equipment Manufacturing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
