You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client.This role is for 16 hours per week. Shifts will be allocated to meet the needs of the client and will be between 08:00 – 23:00, Monday to Sunday.About the Client & Your ResponsibilitiesOur client is a young woman with learning disabilities and complex health needs who is looking for personal assistants who can assist her to live independently at home with her parents.When she is well, she is very sociable and enjoys going to cafés, the cinema, museums, shows and hanging out with friends. she likes to be out and about and enjoys using her tricycle on the seafront and in the park. When she is not well, she enjoys listening to stories, watching DVDs and appreciates companionship and someone to make sure she is as comfortable as possible.You will be required to undertake duties such as assisting with personal care, medication administration, moving & handling with and without a hoist, supporting our client during prolonged myoclonus (shaking) episodes, first aid and light housework/cooking. You will also be required to support her with her communication programme (PODD), for which training will be given.We are looking for a personal assistant who is respectful, fun, well organised and who is able to adapt to make the best of everyday, whether our client is well or not well. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities is a must.
