Clinical Nurse Specialist – Epilepsy Closing date: 23 December 2025 We are recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Epilepsy who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Epilepsy who is passionate about providing outstanding care, improving health outcomes, and reducing health inequalities. You will support, manage and coordinate clinical follow‑up programmes as part of a multidisciplinary team. At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide an accessible and robust service for all children and young people with epilepsy. Manage the clinical caseload, providing highly specialist nursing input and continuity of care to children and young people with epilepsy, focusing on self‑management, attendance, and treatment monitoring, as well as preparation and liaison for transition to adult services. Ensure each patient is assessed, and their care is planned, implemented, and evaluated in negotiation with the patient, carers, and other healthcare professionals accurately and communicated and documented. Provide expert nursing support, advice, education, and counselling to patients and families, either virtually, by telephone, or face to face, offering practical and emotional support in a tailored and timely manner. Meet with patients and their families as required to help resolve concerns, and provide written responses to formal complaints as required by the Divisional Manager. Person Specification Qualifications / Training NMC Registration – Children's Nurse Evidence of recent clinical practice in CYPD Willingness to undertake further education as required Epilepsy related course Non‑Medical Prescriber Community Nursing Qualification Previous Experience Proven experience working within a relevant field (neurology/epilepsy) Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care. Evidence of developing specialist practice nursing skills and demonstrating their impact on practice change/development Awareness of recent developments within nursing.
