Senior Estimator - Civil Engineering
Location: London
I'm working with a leading international civil engineering contractor operating across the UK and overseas, specialising in Civil & Structural Engineering, Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling and large-scale Building projects. They are looking to appoint a Senior Estimator to join their established work-winning team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Estimator from a civil engineering background who wants to be part of a high-performing main contractor with a strong project pipeline and long-term career progression.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for:
* Preparing detailed, accurate and competitive pricing for major civil engineering tenders
* Supporting early contractor involvement (ECI) projects with cost planning and pricing advice
* Working closely with the Bid team to support submission quality and bid strategy
* Reviewing design information, methodologies and assumptions with planning and design teams
* Identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering options during tender stages
* Ensuring compliance with relevant procurement legislation
* Using estimating software packages to develop accurate cost models and proposals
* Liaising with clients, supply chain and internal stakeholders to ensure clarity and competitiveness
Experience Required
* Strong civil engineering background working for a main contractor
* Proven experience preparing tender pricing for complex infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of a wide range of construction methods and techniques
* Understanding of relevant procurement routes and legislation
* Awareness of NEC and other standard forms of contract
* Proficiency with estimating software and strong analytical skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
What's on Offer
* Salary £80,000 to £90,000 DOE
