Hours: 37.5 hours per Week
THE COMPANY
Fowlers of Bristol (Engineers) Ltd is a well-established Bristol based manufacturing firm which produces high quality, sheet metal & precision engineered products predominantly for the Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear industries. We employ approx. 29 staff and operate a single day shift with occasional overtime.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be part of a 4 strong QA team, with a focus on inspection of aerospace sheet metal & machined parts while assisting with other day-to-day duties within the department.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Preparation of PPAP’s, FAIR’s and Non-conformance investigation reports including the supporting investigation NC work.
2. Where required for FAIRS and PPAP, carry out dimensional inspection of parts using traditional measuring equipment and our Aberlink CMM. Measure of parts to support QA Dept with regard production first off’s.
3. Review of technical documents and GAP analysis.
4. General QA activities such as goods inwards receipt inspection and raw material control.
5. Be an active member of the Quality team and function in the business supporting continued development of the company’s culture for safety (zero incidents), quality (zero defects) and ‘100% on time delivery’.
6. Support the company with regard LEAN (5S,7W) and Continuous Improvement.
THE PERSON
The ideal person will have;
1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a proven record of success.
2. Experience of working in the Defence, Aerospace or Nuclear sectors.
3. Excellent leadership skills.
4. A comprehensive knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100, an understanding of NADCAP would be an advantage (Aerospace special process requirement).
5. A comprehensive knowledge of engineering processes - Precision machining, sheet metalwork, presswork, fabrication & welding.
6. Ability to carry out dimensional measurement of parts using traditional measuring equipment and CMM.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels, this will include preparation and delivery of presentations.
IT literate and able to use Microsoft office competently – Word, Outlook, Excel, Access.
THE PACKAGE
Rate: Starting rate - £17.00 to £20.51 per hr + Bonus & O/T dependent on capability & experience
Flexible Working Hours: Full Time Position, 37.5 hours per week between the following times; Mon to Thurs - 05.15 to 16.00, Fri - 05.15 to 12.00 (start 05.15, 06.15 or 07.15 & finish 14.00, 15.00 or 16.00), additional hours will be required as and when the job demands, any overtime worked will be paid at a premium rate.
Overtime may be required as the job demands, any additional hours will be paid at the following rates; 1.33 x hourly rate for first 4 hours, 1.5 x hourly rate for any overtime worked after the first 4 hours.
Holidays: 26 days holiday pay + statutory days (pro-rata based on a 37.5 hour working week).
Bonus: Sales Bonus which ranges between £10 to £50 per week depending on company performance.
Bonus Eligibility Period: After first 3 Months probationary period.
