We are significantly involved in leading the current drive within the LA to maximise inclusion in our local educational settings. We are currently leading on developing and co-producing a strategy for all schools to be trained in relational approaches and trauma informed practice and to embed these in their policies and practice. And we have 4 Specialist Senior Educational Psychologists in post leading on developing inclusive practice: for children with a social worker; for children in the early years; for children who are neurodiverse; and for children who are at risk of social exclusion. You’ll deliver a psychological service through consultation and working with individual and groups of children, parents and carers, schools and early years providers, the local authority and partner agencies. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people, through addressing more smartly the increased demand in accessing ours and related services. | You will be responsible to the area’s senior educational psychologist for the delivery of a psychological service to an identified number of schools and the surrounding community and participate in area and county development and working groups. You’ll undertake identified research and development activities and bring to the attention of the senior educational psychologist matters relating to the quality of educational provision and the effects of policy. You will make decisions on the appropriate form of response to requests for educational psychologist input. | You will have a first degree in psychology or an equivalent qualification recognised by the BPS as conferring the Graduate Basis for Membership, successfully completed a course of post graduate professional training recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as conferring eligibility for registration as an educational psychologist and at least two years qualified classroom teaching experience. You will be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the statutory frameworks. You’ll be able to evidence of a commitment to maximise educational achievement and inclusion.
