Outreach Tutor (SEN Specialist - PMLD, Makaton & PECS Support)Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate and skilled Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Havering who are currently not accessing mainstream education. This role is focused on supporting pupils with complex Special Educational Needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and ideally with experience using Makaton and/or PECS.You will work with learners across a range of ages and abilities, from Primary level up to GCSE, delivering tailored sessions that meet their individual learning and communication needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and wants to make a meaningful impact outside of the traditional classroom setting.While a teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE) is desirable, it is not essential.Prospero Teaching will provide ongoing support and guidance throughout your placements, helping you track progress and ensure each pupil receives the best possible learning experience.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILSLocation - Various locations across HaveringPosition - Outreach TutorType of work - ContractStart date - ASAPDuration / Likely Duration - Dependent on individual student needsEnd date (if applicable) - N/AContract type - TemporaryFull time/part time - Part-time (10-15 hours per week)Minimum rate of pay - 25 per hourHours - Sessions range from 1 to 3 hours, flexible scheduling availableEXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONSExperience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly PMLDFamiliarity with Makaton and/or PECSQTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalentMinimum 6 months experience working in UK education settingsUp-to-date Safeguarding trainingTO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:Have the Right to Work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service (or be willing to apply for one)Provide two professional references covering the last two yearsOTHER INFORMATIONIf you're interested in this role, please apply with your up-to-date CV.
