Wherever you want to go, we’ll help you get there. Key responsibilities Local advice in establishing, implementing and maintaining project level environment management systems. Review of Project Execution Plans to ensure they meet the relevant standards and that suitable PEPs are in place for each new project. Provide technical advice and guidance to managers on EMS requirements. Promote awareness of the EMS and customer requirements throughout BAM Nuttall. Attend start‑up / handover meetings from the pre‑construction team to project team. Attend project close‑out meetings and gather feedback / lessons learned, pass to Head of Environment and Environment Compliance Manager. Attend and provide input at divisional review meetings as appropriate. Support Business Development in bid submissions and contribute to the work‑winning process. Support the investigation of environmental incidents and advise on appropriate actions. Provide support to company auditor(s) as required. Maintain internal compliance audits as required. Guide managers in vendor evaluation when requested. Contribute to the development and delivery of internal environmental/sustainability training. Develop and deliver local training activities as required. Maintain company environmental databases. Undertake a minimum number of internal site environmental inspections based on risk. Develop relationships with stakeholders, regulators and supply chain specialists. Represent the company at trade bodies / associations / industry events as required. Identify and communicate best practice and promote continuous improvement throughout the Company. Prepare monthly reports and submit to the Head of Environment and Environment Compliance Manager in agreed format. Work in accordance with company procedures and provide feedback on their effectiveness. Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time. About the team Be part of a landmark national infrastructure project: HS2, the UK’s new high‑speed rail network. BAM is delivering critical rail track infrastructure across the London to Birmingham route, covering approximately 140 miles of new high‑speed line. This role places you at the heart of engineering that supports up to 225 mph operation, combining large‑scale civil construction, precision rail systems and sustainable delivery. You will join a team committed to low‑carbon construction, with innovations such as double‑composite viaducts that significantly reduce embedded carbon in concrete and steel.
