This constitutes a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR). Main Duties of the Job To assist with the running of the Breast imaging Service. To assist Radiologists during interventional procedures. To assist Radiographers during Interventional Procedures. To prepare patients for their examinations. To teach junior members of staff and students. To perform high quality Breast Radiographs. Job Responsibilities We are looking to recruit a radiographer with sophisticated communication skills and a patient‑centred approach who is interested in a career in breast imaging. You will need to have extensive general radiographic experience. The successful candidate will gain experience in a systematic one‑stop breast clinic, cold lists and biopsies at the Macmillan Cancer Centre. The candidate must be HCPC registered and will be supported to complete a Post Graduate Certificate of Professional Practice in Mammography. You must be capable and willing to work to the highest standards. As a department, we are very supportive of role development, currently we have mammographers who report as well as perform breast biopsies and a Consultant Mammographer running One‑Stop Clinics and cold lists. Person Specification Knowledge and Qualifications Essential: BSc or Diploma in Radiography Essential: State Registration Desirable: Evidence of relevant specialist post‑degree or diploma courses for Continuing Professional Development Experience Essential: Evidence of a range of post‑qualification clinical experience Essential: Participation in quality assurance and clinical audit Desirable: Evidence of experience in Mammography Desirable: Evidence of significant experience to rotate between specialist areas Skills and Abilities Essential: Evidence of participation in QA and maintenance of agreed standards Essential: Demonstrate awareness of responsibility to and advocacy for patients. Essential: Computer literacy Essential: Ability to safely use a wide range of manual handling equipment as provided by the Trust Desirable: Ability to use own initiative, solve problems and make decisions.
