Go back Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust Specialist Radiographer - Research & Development The closing date is 06 January 2026 The successful candidate will support the Research Lead Radiographer in the identification, planning, performance and delivery of portfolio and non-portfolio, commercial and non-commercial clinical trials, in an environment in which all research participants receive a high standard of care. This includes being responsible for the implementation and monitoring of research protocols to ensure optimum safety and care; ensuring studies meet requirements with regards to IR(ME)R 2017 - Procedures regarding medical exposures for research purposes. Main duties of the job To work alongside the Research Lead Radiographer and as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the oversight and co-ordination of the clinical and educational requirements of clinical research across Radiology at a consistently high technical level and professional standard. Work in line with service needs and within professional scope of practice. You will represent the imaging and research department at all times, leading, supporting and coordinating service provision as required. This includes being responsible for the implementation and monitoring of research protocols to ensure optimum safety and care; ensuring studies meet requirements with regards to IR(ME)R 2017 - Procedures regarding medical exposures for research purposes. This includes acting as an expert resource for colleagues to support them in the delivery of safe and valid research and effective care assess, prioritise and organise own workload within assigned area of work. Follow policies, procedures and protocols relating to and underpinning the radiology service in line with guidance from Royal College of Radiologists and College of Radiographers The post holder will be based in Research and Development at Birmingham Children's Hospital on non-clinical days and within the Radiology Department at Birmingham Children's Hospital when undertaking Clinical duties.
