About Us Inverter Drive Systems Ltd is a leading specialist in the supply, installation, commissioning, repair, and servicing of variable speed drive (VSD) systems across the UK. With a strong customer base and growing demand—particularly across East Anglia—we are looking to expand our engineering team with a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in variable speed drives. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site installation, commissioning, diagnostics, repair, servicing, and maintenance of VSD equipment in a wide range of industrial environments. Exposure to ABB drives is a significant advantage and will be highly valued in this role. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair variable speed drives and associated electrical equipment. Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across customer sites. Conduct fault‑finding and diagnostics to ensure optimal drive performance. Provide technical support and advice to customers both on‑site and remotely. Complete service reports, documentation, and compliance records accurately. Participate in the call‑out rota as required. Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure high‑quality service delivery. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience working with variable speed drives (VSDs). Strong electrical engineering background, ideally with relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent). Practical experience in installation, commissioning, and servicing of industrial electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation. Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills. Full UK driving licence. Good communication and customer‑facing skills. Hands‑on experience with ABB drives (a major advantage).
