Job Purpose As an engineer, you will be responsible for working independently and carrying out the design, analysis, and management of engineering projects. This role involves working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically sound and compliant projects. Vacancy Type Full‑time Salary Scale Competitive How To Apply careers@mhbconsultants.com Location Glasgow Closing Date Friday, December 5, 2025 Roles & Responsibilities Undertake preliminary and detailed designs for engineering projects Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports Perform structural analysis and ensure compliance with engineering standards Assist in the preparation of fee/tender proposals Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders Conduct site visits and inspections Ensure compliance with design and safety standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and clients, on projects Manage project timelines, budgets, and communication with stakeholders Provide technical support to junior and graduate engineers Person Specification Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course. A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above. Demonstrate commitment to undertake continuous professional development towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineering status. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English) Ability to work effectively with the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proficiency in design and analysis software and any associated tools Strong understanding of design codes and standards Good communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage tasks and work within deadlines Strong attention to detail and the ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems Experience Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably with a background in flood modelling and catchment studies.
