Forest House School – Teaching Assistant Forest House School is recruiting a versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistant to join our education team immediately. Role Overview As a Teaching Assistant you will work alongside the class teacher, supporting pupils across all key stages. Your responsibilities will include assisting pupils with their work, managing pupil behaviour, establishing positive relationships, acting as a role model, and responding to individual needs. Key Responsibilities Assist pupils with their learning tasks and support classroom activities. Manage pupil behaviour and promote positive classroom approaches. Build rapport with pupils, acting as a positive role model. Respond to individual pupil needs and adapt practice accordingly. Transport students on educational visits (a full driving licence is essential). Work across multiple sites (Progression House, Hinckley and Sketchley Hall, Burbage) if required. Essential Skills & Qualifications Good knowledge of autism and experience working within an SEN setting (ideally with a similar age group on the autistic spectrum). Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with young people in an engaging way. Highly organised, adaptable and proactive with a strong enthusiasm for the role. Desire to learn new skills and develop your role, building on your strengths. High resilience and compassion. Ability to work well as part of a team and also on your own initiative. Knowledge of PBS and/or Team Teach approaches is desirable. A full, clean driving licence (required for transporting students). Benefits Exclusive access to reward and discount scheme.
