An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join our Sizewell C team in Suffolk. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background and have been in the role of a Senior Engineer within a Civil Engineering Highways environment a priority.Reporting to the Site Agent/PM, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing the engineering on a project, ensuring works are constructed to the contract drawings, specifications, procedures, and plans, whilst managing site and trainee engineers.Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to:Experience/Knowledge:Previous experience as Senior Engineer (or similar) for civil engineering contractorExperience in general civils within a highway’s environment inclusive of Site Clearance, Drainage & Service Ducts, Earthworks, Pavements, Kerbs & Footways and Street LightingGood knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary worksStrong knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering / specification for highway worksCommercially aware and experience of working in a cost-conscious environmentSkills:Good communication, people, and team management skillsAbility to speak up on HSEQ matters and lead by exampleUse of Fieldview / Dalux (or similar) web and mobile BIM softwareProficiency in design software, such as AutoCad / Autodesk / Sketchup (desirable)Qualifications:Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalentMember of Institute of Civil Engineers or working towards (desirable)IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTSValid CSCS cardYou hold a Full UK driving licenceHealth, Safety & Environment:Writing/Checking RAMS and TBS, communicating to workforce and monitoring complianceContribute to the achievement of Galldris’ Safety Targets and zero tolerance of unsafe working practicesTo establish and implement site systems and controls consistent with Galldris company standards and project requirements including health, safety and quality systems and project engineering standardsCheck Permits issued by the Principal Contractor and ensure they are received in a timely manner for works to proceedReview the short-term lookahead programmes and reporting feedback on siteFeedback and report issues on site which may delay programme or progressAssist with preventing, identifying, and rectifying issues on site which may impact the programmeDesign & Design AssurancePermanent Design – Familiarising yourself with the design drawings, specifications and setting out requirements and ensure accurate construction in accordance with requirementsTemporary Works Design – In liaison with TWC, identify temporary works requirements, produce design briefs, and understand and communicate temporary works designs to site team and monitor installation to ensure complianceMARs – Raising Material Approval Records and procuring materials in line with programmeTQs – Highlight issues and raise queries from review of drawings and specifications and from site inspections, and raise with relevant party, drawing sketches where requiredQuality ManagementITPs – Writing/checking ITPs, communicating to workforce and checking the process is being followedQA Records – Keeping organised and accurate QA records in accordance with ITPs and project requirementsNCRs & Defects – Lead on documenting, tracking, closing out, and sharing lessons learnt to avoid reoccurrenceQuality Handover Documentation – Collating information in accordance with ITPs and handover requirementsQuality Readiness Reviews – lead on readiness reviews whilst capturing lessons learnt / improvementsGalldris is an Equal Opportunities employer and does not discriminate against any protected characteristic.Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK.
