Job Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacist with an interest in mental health to join our team in Sheffield. Pharmacists in this role deliver clinical services across inpatient wards and community teams, providing safe, patient‑centred care. You will be an active member of multidisciplinary teams, attend meetings, develop individualised care plans, reconcile medicines and counsel patients. The role supports medicines use across the Trust, participates in clinical supervision and contributes to the development of pharmacy services. Responsibilities Provide clinical pharmacy services to wards, units or teams, ensuring pharmacological treatment meets national best practice standards. Support clinical pharmacy services in other Trust areas. Develop and maintain relationships within multidisciplinary teams. Lead or assist in establishing safe and effective medicines‑related practice. Advise service users, carers, and staff on the best use of medicines and provide medication information and counselling. Offer advice to medical, nursing and other staff on medicine‑related problems. Participate in drug information systems, answering queries on medicine use within the Trust. Under supervision, conduct specialist mental health medication reviews for complex or non‑responsive patients, collaborating with other health‑care providers to address physical health considerations. Perform clinical and other checks within the dispensary and act as Responsible Pharmacist. Act as a pharmacist for purposes of the Human Medicines Regulations, 2012 and other statutory instruments. Ensure compliance with CQC and other regulatory bodies. Implement MHRA or other medicine alerts. Collect data, contribute to audits and clinical trials. Provide training on medicines to other professional groups. Complete mandatory and other Trust‑required training. When appropriate, supervise junior pharmacy staff, technicians and students. Participate in bank holiday, early and late rota, with possible future weekend rosters. Service Development Support new service developments under senior pharmacy guidance. Assist in developing and implementing new processes and procedures. Implement policies and propose changes to practices and procedures under supervision. Assist in delivering and adapting training materials. Qualifications Qualified pharmacist or trainee sitting the autumn exam. A genuine interest in mental health and clinical pharmacy practice. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of medicines information, dispensary services and teaching for professionals and patients. Committed to continuous professional development and safety‑focused practice.
