Junior Bid Manager – Foodservice

MacGregor Black is partnering with a market‑leading national wholesale business to appoint a Contract Bid Executive / Junior Bid Manager. This is a permanent, on‑site role based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, ideally suited to someone in the North of England who’s looking for that first real step up in responsibility. Key Responsibilities: Support and lead the preparation and submission of tender proposals for key Foodservice customers. Work closely with the Contract Management team to identify, track, and prioritise future business opportunities. Maintain and continually improve a professional library of contractual and bid‑related documents. Help drive a consistent, well‑structured bid process so that tenders are delivered on time, every time. Act as a point of contact for customers when the Contract Management team is unavailable, ensuring a professional, joined‑up experience. Help maximise opportunities through existing framework agreements by spotting upsell and cross‑sell potential. Collaborate with trading and commercial teams to build tailored product ranges that meet specific customer needs. Build and maintain regional opportunity trackers to support proactive business development. What We’re Looking For: Experience in Foodservice, wholesale, or retail – ideally in a commercial, contracts, or bids/tenders environment. Some exposure to the tender or proposal process – for example, supporting bid submissions, pricing, or documentation. Strong communication skills – you’re comfortable working with different stakeholders and presenting ideas clearly. Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at the same time. Confidence working with Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office to analyse data and build clear, compelling documents. A proactive mindset – you like to improve processes, not just follow them.
