Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a full-time Assistant Service Manager based in a Children’s home in Birchington.The salary for this permanent Assistant Service Manager job is up to £29,169.Main Duties:This is a supported living service based in Birchington, Kent. The service supports three brothers who have learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviours.Management and coordination of support hours and rotasEffectively recruit, develop and manage employees fairly and consistentlyAssist the service manager in encouraging a solution‑led cultureProvide day‑to‑day support, including personal care, cooking, cleaning, and administering medicationAct as the Service Manager in their absenceEstablish and maintain effective relationships and networks, internally and externallyRequirements of this job:Experience in a similar role within social care, e.g. Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader, etc.Experience supporting people who have learning disabilities and complex needsExperience in managing budgets and financial informationKnowledge of sector‑relevant legislation, regulatory bodies and their standardsAbility to work with your Service Manager to manage and lead a successful and positive team.Understand the balance between keeping our people safe and positive risk‑taking.Stay updated with policies and procedures to carry out and maintain safe and best practices.Support the Service Manager in recruiting new employees and developing and managing your staff team in a fair and consistent manner.Work with your Service Manager to reinforce a positive culture of continuous improvement.Act as the Service Manager in their absence.Participate in a management cover rota, including day and night shifts.A driver with a full UK valid driving licence is highly desirable – the ability to travel to the service location and drive the service vehicle/s.Contact:We welcome applications from care home managers, deputy managers, care coordinators, key workers, childcare workers, and others within a residential or supported living setting, as we might have other roles applicable to you.Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we regret that we can only respond to candidates who meet our clients’ requirements.As a pioneer of diverse recruitment, Sanctuary Personnel is proud to encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds as our pool of candidates reflects the clients that candidates will support within their role.
